Vintage Automobile Club
35th Annual Car Show
Sunday, September 7th, 2014
9:00am - 3:00pm
(no rain date)
The Vintage Automobile Club of Ocean County will be holding it's 35th annual Car Show on Sunday, September 7, 2014, from 9:00 am to 4:00 PM. The location is Bay Boulevard, Seaside Heights, NJ. The show area is a wide paved street with plenty of room between cars, and enough room behind cars for owners to set up a table, chairs, umbrella etc. There are not many trees, so bringing an umbrella is advised. (Car show generally conicides with Seaside Heights' Seafood festival.)
Cars are not divided into classes, which allows friends who drive different types of cars to park together. We will even hold spaces for your friends. If you let us know a day in advance, we can also reserve space for your entire club.
Registration is between 8:00 am to 11:00 am. Cars registered after 11:00 am will not be judged. All cars that are at least 25 years old are welcome. Vintage Automobile Club members will not be judged. The show officially begins at 9:00 am. Free Admission for Spectators.
Judging is informal, the owner does not have to be with the car during judging. We do ask that the hood be left open so judges can view under it. Trunks need not be open and convertibles tops need not be in the up position. Windows need not be rolled up.
We award over eighty trophies each year, and that does not include the trophies for "Best Pre-War", "Best Post-War", "Best Work in Progress", "Rusty Bucket" and "Oldest Car". We do not give a Longest Distance Award. We have found that most car owners do not like to stay at a show past 4:00 PM. Since some car owners have to drive a great distance, we try to end the show by 3:00 PM.
The atmosphere of the show is low key, we do not have muffler raps, burnout contests, or other games. What we do offer is a nice day in the sun, good music, plenty of great food - including breakfast, and an adjacent playground for kids. Plus, the Seaside Heights Annual Seafood Festival is only a short walk away! Most of all, we provide a great chance for family and friends to get out and enjoy themselves.
Proceeds from the show will be used to support various organizations. Previously, these have included: Ocean of Love, the Seaside Heights Police Dept Toys for Tots, and the Vintage Automobile Museum of N.J.
Our show has grown to considerable size over the years, and has attracted spectators and participants from all over New Jersey and surrounding states. The show is a living history, rich in nostalgia, and enjoyed by people of all ages.
Bring your family to meet our family!
