Schedule of Area Displays, Shows, and other Events: July 2010

July 2 – Howell from 5 to 8 pm – Car display at Pulte Homes. Take Parkway Exit 100A, drive on Rt. 33 West for 4½ miles; Pulte is on the left. Free food and music. Pulte will make Museum donation.

Sun. July 4 – Lakehurst from 9 am to 4 pm – 20th Annual Lakehurst Cruisers Car Show at Lakehurst Elementary School - Union Ave and Lake St. Door prizes, dash plaques, silent auction, games and parade at 11am. $12 pre-reg. / $15 day of show.

Mon. July 5 – Berkeley Township from 10:30 am to 3 pm – Vintage Auto Club Annual Picnic at Veteran’s Park. Bring your own beverages and a salad or dessert to share.

Sat. July 10 – Lakewood from 10 am to 2 pm – Car display at the Harley-Davidson dealership at 300 Rt. 70. Lunch will be provided.

Sat. July 10 (rain date July 24) – Howell from 4 to 9 pm – 4th Annual “Wheels for Meals” Car Show at Chick-Fil-A at 4881 Rt. 9 North (Lowes / Target Shopping Center). Over 100 trophies and awards, goody bags, door prizes and certificates. There is a minimum $10 registration fee as all proceeds support the hungry via the Howell Food Pantry. Open to vintage cars to 1990 and special interest vehicles to 2010.

Sat. July 10 – Long Branch from 6 to 10 pm - West End Cruise Night 1 at the Brighton Ave. business district. Rods, customs, and classics. Stores and restaurants are open. Free concert with “Parkway Joe and the Tokens”, “The Cherubs”, and featuring “Herman’s Hermits” starring Peter Noone.

Sun. July 11 (rain date July 18) – Lakewood from 12 to 4 pm - Jersey Mike's Charity Car Show at the Jersey Mike's on 1195 Rt. 70W and Airport Rd. Trophies, DJ, Lunch Specials for cruisers. Charity to benefit Ocean of Love. Contact Greg at 732-905-9520. All American muscle, classic, antique cars and trucks welcome.

Sun. July 11 (rain date July 19) – Red Bank from 10 am to 3 pm - Liberty Hose Firefighter 8th Annual Car

Show at the White St. parking lot. Food, trophies, DJ, vendors, give-a-ways, over 100 trophies, and dash plaques for the first 200 registered vehicles. Pre-reg $12 / $15 day of show. http://www.libertyhose94.com/

Tues. July 13 – Berkeley Township beginning at 6 pm – Free “Sounds of Summer” concert at Veteran’s Park featuring “Bobby and The Jets” a tribute to Elton John and the RPM Band. Bring your lawn chairs and bug spray.

Wed. July 14 – Toms River from 6 to 9 pm – Crusin’ Downtown on Washington St. Stage on Hadley Ave. between 4 and 5 pm. Entertainment by “Debra Dynamite & The Sparks of Rhythm”.

Fri. July 16 – Berkeley Twp. from 6 to 9 pm - Car display at the Ocean County Fair. Meet at the driver testing parking lot next to Miller Air Park to caravan in at 6 pm. Call Everett Ross at 732-779-1124 to reserve a spot.

Sat. July 17 (rain date July 18) – Seaside Heights from 11 am to 3 pm – “Shore Dreams For Kids” Car Show in conjunction with the Make-A-Wish Foundation includes boat rides for special needs children. Location is the ball field on Bay Blvd. and Kearney Ave. Lots of food, music, activities and games. Dash plaques for first 100 cars. 30 Trophies. Participation fee is a donation. Thurs. July 22 (rain date July 30) – Toms River from 5:30 to 7:30 pm – “FCA Thursday Cruise Night” at First Choice Auto Repair, 1014 Rt. 37 West (just past Wal-Mart). Free, but please bring items for military care packages

Sat. July 24 (rain or shine) – Forked River Reg. from 9 to 11 am - Classic Car And Truck Show at Gille Park, Western and Manchester Blvd's to benefit autism. $10 pre-reg and $15 day of show. Food, fun, games, dunk tank, bounce house, silent auction, 50/50. Meet Srunchy the bear, DJ Arties Parties, WOBM and much more.

Sat. July 24 (rain date July 25) – Asbury Park from 10 am to 4 pm – 2nd Annual Classic Car Show on Cook-man Ave. Sorry, no motorcycles. Sun. July 25 – Freehold from 11 am to 6 pm – 33rd Annual Antique & Classic Auto Show held at the Monmouth County Fair at East Freehold Park on Kozloski Rd. $10 pre-reg/$15 day of show (participants get free entry to fair).

Tues. July 27 – Berkeley Township beginning at 6 pm – Free “Sounds of Summer” concert at Veteran’s Park featuring “The Bronx Wanderers” a tribute to “Dion and the Belmonts”. Bring your lawn chairs and bug spray.

Sat. July 31 – Barnegat from 10 am to 4 pm – Mariners Lodge 150 Classic Car and Truck Show in the Municipal Parking Lot on Rt. 9 and Bay Avenue. Pre-reg. $10 / $15 day of show. Contact: 609-713-3697 or acamilo@verizon.net. Registration form requires insurance information.

Tues. Aug. 3 – Toms River from 6 to 9 pm – Mopar Evening Car Show at Christopher’s Pub and Grille at the Howard Johnson Motel, 995 Hooper Ave. Trophies, dash plaques, music, door prizes, and food and drink specials. $5 registration.

Sat. Aug. 7 (rain date Aug. 8) – Toms River from 11 am to 3 pm – 5th Annual Antique Car Show at the Rose Garden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at 1579 Old Freehold Rd. Free admission, free food and live music by “The Cameos”, a nine piece 50’s group.

Sat. Aug. 7 – Long Branch from 6 to 10 pm - West End Cruise Night 2 at the Brighton Ave. business district. Rods, customs, and classics. Stores and restaurants are open. Free concert with “R B Express”, “The Wrecks” and featuring the “The Duprees”.

Tues. Aug. 10 – Berkeley Township beginning at 6 pm – Free “Sounds of Summer” concert at Veteran’s Park featuring “The Duprees” with special guest performance by “Tre Bella”. Bring your lawn chairs and bug spray.

Wed. Aug. 11 – Toms River from 6 to 9 pm – Crusin’ Downtown on Washington St. Stage on Hadley Ave. between 4 and 5 pm. Entertainment by “Sounds of the Street”.

Sat. Aug. 14 (rain date Aug. 15) – Sea Girt from 9 am to 3 pm – Jersey Shore Buick Club’s “All GM Show” at T&T Coast Buick, 2205 Rt. 35. Open to cars and trucks to 1985, rods with GM bodies or engines, and all year Reattas, Corvettes, Grand Nationals and special interest cars. Vendors, refreshments, door prizes, trophies, and basket raffles. Pre-reg $10 / $15 day of show.

Wed. Aug. 18 (rain date Aug. 19) – Pt. Pleasant from 6 to 10 pm – Ernie Freestone Memorial / Rotary Club 21st Annual Evening Car Show at Crystal Point Yacht Club, Rt. 70 and River Rd. Open to cars, trucks, rods, and customs 2000 or older. Music, dash plaques / goody bags to 1st 150 cars. $15 Reg. Limited parking – arrive early.

Sun. Aug. 22 (rain date Aug 29) Allaire from 8 am to 3 pm – 15th Annual Antique “Rolling Iron Auto Show” at Allaire Village in Allaire State Park.
